Job Description

Placed.au is looking for a full time Barista for our client in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Job Description As a Barista, you'll brew, prepare, and serve a variety of beverages while providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced and energetic environment. Duties and responsibilities include: Coffee Preparation:

- Expertly prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks.
- Consistently follow recipes and guidelines to maintain the quality and flavour profile of our coffee.

Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly and attentive service.
- Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience and address any questions or concerns.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

- Keep the coffee preparation area, equipment, and serving areas clean and organized.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines in food and beverage handling.

Stock Management:

- Monitor and restock coffee beans, milk, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist in inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels.

Team Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.




- Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications / Attributes

- Relevant Certificate II in Hospitality, or at least 1 year of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing espresso-based coffee, specialty beverages, and other café drinks to a consistently high standard
- Strong knowledge of coffee extraction techniques, milk texturing, latte art, and coffee equipment operation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers
- Ability to operate coffee machines, grinders, POS systems, and other café equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Passion for coffee, hospitality, and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Salary $70,000 – $85,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
