Company Description The Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) is an independent regulator responsible for overseeing compliance with and enforcing New South Wales (NSW) water laws. NRAR plays a critical role in protecting water resources and ensuring fair and sustainable access to water across the state. The organization is committed to transparent engagement with the public and stakeholders, including through its social media presence, which is managed and moderated by a dedicated team.

NRAR upholds clear community guidelines to support respectful, constructive communication and maintain trust in its regulatory activities. There are three (3) ongoing roles available. 1 in Tamworth/Armidale and two in the south-west NSW [Wagga Wagga/ Albury].

Role Description The Senior Investigator role is responsible for leading complex investigations into potential non-compliance with NSW water laws, including gathering evidence, conducting interviews, analyzing data, and preparing detailed reports and briefs. Qualifications

Solid investigative and analytical skills, including experience planning and conducting complex regulatory or compliance investigations.

Proficiency in evidence gathering, interviewing, and report writing,



with the ability to present findings clearly and accurately.

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, preferably related to water law, environmental management, or natural resources regulation.

Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with community members, industry, and government agencies.

High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to fairness, transparency, and ethical conduct.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, criminal justice, environmental science, public administration, or a related discipline.

Experience in regulatory enforcement, compliance monitoring, or a similar field; government or public sector experience is advantageous.

Comfort working in field-based environments, including travel within NSW as required, and adherence to workplace health and safety requirements.

Strong digital literacy, including use of investigative tools, case management systems, and standard office software.
