Senior Legal Counsel, ANZ

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel, ANZ to lead and manage all legal matters across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a pivotal, business-facing role where you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic legal guidance across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and dispute matters. You will play a critical role in protecting DKSH’s interests while enabling business growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Legal Advisory

- Provide expert, commercially pragmatic advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, IP, and competition law matters
- Translate complex legal risks into clear, actionable business solutions

Legal Risk & Governance

- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across ANZ
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and ethical standards

Commercial & Contracting

- Lead contract strategy, negotiation, and lifecycle management




- Drive continuous improvement in contracting processes and risk controls

Litigation & Dispute Management

- Oversee key litigation, disputes, and arbitration matters
- Manage and optimise relationships with external legal counsel

Regulatory & External Engagement

- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and government bodies
- Manage licensing, approvals, and regulatory compliance obligations

Legal Operations & Projects

- Implement best-practice legal processes and reporting frameworks
- Lead due diligence and legal projects to support business transformation and growth

What You’ll Bring

- Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Australia
- 7+ years’ experience in a top-tier or mid-tier law firm and/or in-house role
- Solid expertise in corporate and commercial law within ANZ
- Experience across litigation, regulatory engagement, and complex legal matters
- Commercially astute with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to operate autonomously and manage competing priorities
- High level of integrity and discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
