An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join my client's established underground gold mining operation in regional Victoria. My client is ideally seeking a senior-level skilled who can take ownership of the site's surveying function, coordinate survey activities and provide guidance to other members of the team. However, they are also open to appointing an experienced Mine Surveyor with approximately three to five years of underground surveying experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

This is a genuine residential position offering the opportunity to live locally and return home each day. Full relocation assistance will be provided to support the successful candidate and their family in relocating to the region.

The Opportunity

Working as part of the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and completing surveying activities across both underground and surface environments. You will work closely with mining engineers, geologists, production personnel, contractors and operational teams to ensure accurate survey information is available to support safe and efficient development and production activities. For a senior appointment, the position will also involve providing technical leadership, coordinating survey priorities and supporting the development of less experienced survey team members.

Key Responsibilities - Planning and organising underground and surface surveying activities.

- Providing heading control, centrelines and development plans to support underground advance.
- Completing regular development pickups and ensuring mine plans are updated accurately and promptly.
- Marking up production drilling and diamond drilling locations in line with operational requirements.
- Completing and processing cavity monitoring surveys for underground stopes and voids.
- Maintaining accurate underground mine plans,

surface layouts and survey control systems.
- Completing end-of-month surveys and supporting over-mining and under-mining analysis and reporting.
- Maintaining accurate as-built information for mine development, infrastructure and underground services.
- Ensuring survey data and mine plans are maintained within relevant mine planning and surveying systems.
- Supporting remnant mining assessments, mine closure activities and transition planning.
- Managing and maintaining appropriate electronic and hard-copy survey records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with engineering, geology, production and contractor teams to ensure survey requirements do not delay mining activities.
- Identifying surveying risks and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site safety systems, legislative requirements and operational procedures. The position descriptions place particular emphasis on heading control, development pickups, drill mark-ups, CMS processing, surface plans, closure-related data, as-built records and timely delivery of accurate survey information.

About

You - A degree or recognised tertiary qualification in Mine Surveying or a related discipline.

- At least three to five years of underground mine surveying experience.
- Previous surveying experience within an underground gold operation or a similar hard-rock mining environment.
- Strong practical experience with underground development and production surveying.
- Experience completing development pickups, drill mark-ups, CMS work, as-built surveys and end-of-month reporting.

- Working knowledge of relevant mine surveying and planning software, ideally including Deswik and/or Surpac.
- A sound understanding of underground mine plans, survey control, data management and regulatory requirements.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
- A current First Aid qualification, or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary technical team. Candidates being considered for the senior-level appointment should also demonstrate previous experience coordinating survey activities, providing technical leadership and mentoring or developing other survey personnel.

The Senior Mine

Surveyor PD specifically identifies leadership, coaching, communication and the development of subordinate survey personnel as important attributes.

Why Consider This

Opportunity?

- A permanent residential opportunity with an established underground gold operation.
- Full relocation assistance for the successful candidate and their family.
- The ability to live locally rather than work a FIFO roster.
- A broad surveying position covering development, production, surface, closure and technical data management.
- The opportunity to take ownership of a critical technical function.
- Career progression for an experienced Mine Surveyor looking to move into a senior position.
- The opportunity to work closely with experienced mining, geology and technical-services professionals.
- A lifestyle location within regional Victoria with access to Ballarat and surrounding communities. This opportunity would suit either an established Senior Mine Surveyor seeking a residential leadership position or an experienced Mine Surveyor with strong underground exposure who is ready to progress.
