Placed.au is looking for a full-time Waitress for our client in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Job Description

- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient table service to all customers, ensuring a high standard of customer care at all times.
- Welcome and seat customers, present menus, explain menu items, and answer questions regarding food, beverages, and daily specials.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the café's ordering system and communicate orders promptly to the kitchen and barista.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner, ensuring orders are complete and presented to the café's quality standards.
- Monitor customer satisfaction throughout service and promptly respond to requests or concerns, referring any significant issues to management where required.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming dining environment.
- Prepare and maintain dining areas before, during, and after service, ensuring tables, service stations, and customer areas remain clean and well presented.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up service areas, restocking supplies, and cleaning equipment and workstations.
- Process customer payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system and follow cash handling procedures in accordance with café policies.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of service items, condiments, takeaway packaging, and beverages, notifying management when replenishment is required.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene,



and workplace health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and café standards.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and a positive customer experience during busy service periods.
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and courteous manner at all times while representing the business.

Qualifications / Attributes

- Must hold a Certificate II in Hospitality or a related qualification, or at least one (1) year of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification
- Must possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience as a Waitress, Waiter, Food and Beverage Attendant, or in a similar hospitality role
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently explain menu items and take accurate orders
- Experience operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced café or hospitality environment while maintaining a high standard of service
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks during busy service periods
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate order taking, food presentation, and customer satisfaction
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Salary $70,000 – $85,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
