Granny Flats WA is a family owned and operated Perth residential building company with over 20 years of experience delivering granny flats, renovations and extensions across the greater Perth metropolitan area. We've built our reputation the old-fashioned way — by doing good work, being straight with people and standing behind what we build.
We're in a growth stage and investing in our systems, processes and team. Our team is under 50 people, close-knit and genuinely collaborative. Hours are realistic, and we back our people to succeed.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper to join our team and become the primary day-to-day finance resource within the business.
Reporting to the GM Finance and working closely with our administration team, you'll manage the core bookkeeping function, help keep our financial records accurate and up to date, and provide support through month-end reporting and compliance activities.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership of their work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to play an important part in a growing Perth business.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Processing supplier invoices and customer receipts
Following up outstanding accounts and maintaining accurate ageing reports
Preparing weekly payment runs for approval
Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
Assisting with payroll preparation, leave reconciliations and related payroll activities
Performing month-end reconciliations, journals and accruals
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit trails
Working alongside our external accountant by providing information and reconciliations to support BAS, tax and compliance requirements
Assisting with ongoing process improvements and system enhancements
What We're Looking For
3+ years' bookkeeping experience in an Australian business environment
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
Experience supporting or processing payroll, including leave management, superannuation and payroll reconciliations
Working knowledge of GST, BAS and PAYG obligations, with the ability to maintain accurate records and prepare supporting information in collaboration with the external accountant
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
Construction or project-based business experience would be viewed favourably but is not essential.
What's on Offer
Stable full-time position with a well-established Perth builder
Support from an experienced GM Finance and external accountant
Prospect to contribute to process improvements and future system upgrades
Friendly, collaborative and down-to-earth team culture
Modern office locations in Booragoon and Nedlands
Flexible start date for the right candidate
