This role is positioned with the Governance and Strategy Team and plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the Development Coordination Authority (DCA). The role supports the development, negotiation and delivery of up to 10 agency agreements, working closely with DCA leadership, DPHI teams and agencies to establish effective governance and operating arrangements.

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will use your advanced critical thinking, policy and problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues, balance diverse stakeholder interests, and deliver practical solutions that improve legislative, policy and operational outcomes.

Drawing on research, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based analysis, you’ll provide strategic advice, influence decision-making and drive practical improvements that contribute directly to the success of a NSW Government reform priority.

About you

- Knowledge of the NSW planning, assessment and approval environments including relevant legislation, policy, regulations, standards and codes of practice.
- Experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating policy projects and initiatives within complex authorising environments.




- Demonstrated ability engaging with complex internal and external stakeholder groups to identify, design and implement policy related improvements.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Essential

- Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline e.g., Bachelor of Public Policy, Bachelor of Planning, Bachelor of Law, or Bachelor of Environmental Management or relevant experience.
