Aspirante is seeking a highly organised and adaptable Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of a procurement improvement project within a Queensland Government department.
Reporting directly to the Program Director, this is a hands-on support role suited to someone who is positive, dependable and willing to assist wherever required. You will work under the direction of the Program Director, completing a broad mix of project coordination, governance, documentation, stakeholder support and administrative activities.
The project is focused on improving procurement processes, documentation, governance and stakeholder capability within a complex government environment. The successful candidate will help ensure project activities are well coordinated, accurately documented and delivered in accordance with Queensland Government governance, procurement and probity requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide responsive day-to-day support to the Program Director.
- Coordinate project activities, priorities, milestones, actions and deliverables.
- Prepare project reports, briefings, presentations, correspondence and supporting documentation.
- Support governance meetings through scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking.
- Maintain project schedules, risks, issues, decisions, registers and document repositories.
- Assist with procurement process reviews, improvement activities and the development of supporting documentation.
- Coordinate information and input from procurement, commercial, project, technical and business stakeholders.
- Undertake research, analysis and documentation as directed by the Program Director.
- Support reporting, purchase order administration and other project-related processes.
- Undertake a variety of higher-level and administrative tasks as required to support the successful delivery of the project.
About you You will be a supportive and proactive Senior Project Officer who brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine willingness to contribute across all areas of the project.
You will ideally demonstrate:
- Experience providing project support within a government, procurement, commercial or business improvement environment.
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities and competing deadlines.
- High-quality written communication, reporting and document preparation skills.
- Experience supporting project governance, meetings, reporting and action management.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready records.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and responding effectively to direction from a Program Director.
- A flexible, collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to undertake both strategic and administrative tasks.
- An understanding of procurement processes, government governance or probity requirements would be beneficial.
- Queensland Government experience would be highly regarded.
