Role Purpose The Senior Solutions Engineer combines solution architecture and pre-sales support with hands-on technical delivery. The role works closely with Sales to support the sales cycle from discovery through to solution design, while also ensuring the highest standard of technical delivery. Acting as the senior technical bridge between Sales and Delivery, the role provides deep hands-on expertise, credible customer-facing support and technical capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with Sales and Delivery on opportunities that need architecture and hands-on technical input.
- Lead customer discovery and translate business requirements into detailed, buildable solution designs.
- Design scalable, supportable and commercially viable managed services, cloud, infrastructure and networking solutions.
- Produce solution diagrams, SOWs and estimates for technically complex or strategic opportunities.
- Take hands-on ownership of build and implementation for key components of the solutions designed, working with Delivery teams.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues during delivery.
- Provide ongoing technical support for client infrastructure and contribute to project delivery, beyond initial solution build.
- Mentor and upskill engineers, sharing architecture and design expertise across the team.
- Support Monthly Service Reviews (MSRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)



for technically complex accounts as required.

Skills & Experience

- 5+ years’ senior engineering experience within an MSP or systems integrator, with strong hands-on delivery alongside design/architecture work.
- Strong proposal, SOW and technical documentation skills.
- Confident presenting to customers and executive stakeholders; comfortable facilitating workshops.
- Deep hands-on expertise across Microsoft 365 and Azure, including tenant architecture, identity, security and cloud infrastructure design.
- Solid working knowledge of AWS, with the ability to design and support solutions across multi-cloud environments.
- Solid networking fundamentals — routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN and enterprise network design.
- Fortigate experience highly sought after — firewall configuration, policy design and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Managed Services operating models.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer outcomes and delivery practicality.
- Excellent written, verbal and relationship management skills.
