We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate / Senior Accountant to join a highly regarded professional services firm based in Brisbane.
About the Role
This opportunity sits within a professional services environment where the focus is on delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services, maintaining strong technical standards, and supporting ongoing professional development. Role responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and general-purpose financial reports across a broad range of industries and entity structures
- Completion of tax compliance and support work including tax research, payroll tax obligations, and preparation of GST, PAYG, BAS, and IAS reporting requirements
- Exposure to a diverse client base requiring adaptability across multiple entity types including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals, along with the ability to resolve client-specific issues and support ongoing accounting needs
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, with a focus on clear communication and delivering a tailored, professional service experience
- Preparation of supporting accounting work including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed working papers to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Participation in ongoing professional development to remain current with accounting standards, regulatory changes, and broader industry developments
Candidate requirements
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, or Business
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office,
with experience using accounting systems such as MYOB and Xero
- Professional and client-focused, with a genuine desire to build long-term relationships and develop into a trusted advisor.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy in high-pressure environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues
