Further develop your professional expertise in Plastic Surgery with a 12-month appointment as an Unaccredited Plastic and Reconstructive Registrar.
Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital is the principle tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia.
Currently, the Royal Darwin Hospital is accepting applications for several Unaccredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Registrars starting in February 2027.
Under the direction of Head of Unit Associate Professor Gillian Farrell and both local and visiting experienced Specialist Plastic Surgeons you will further develop your surgical skills by providing high-quality reconstructive procedures to patients at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals. There is also the possibility of being involved with Outreach services to Gove, Katherine and Alice Springs.
Your key duties will include the admission, management and discharge of patients under the supervision of the consultant Plastic Surgeons, participating in operations in theatre and the departments 24-hr on-call roster. In addition, you will be given the prospect to conduct research,
peer review practices and continued Medical Education.
To be successful you are required to be eligible for appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia, have relevant training and experience in Plastic Surgery, research capability and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients.
