We are seeking a dedicated Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team in Newcastle and Maitland. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to clients. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ communication and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide therapy to clients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic care.
- Educate clients and their families about communication and swallowing disorders and strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a medical or rehabilitation environment.
- Strong understanding of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
