Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to join a high-performing Application Hosting team supporting enterprise Windows, SQL Server, and web hosting platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernising critical infrastructure while driving automation, cloud adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and contribute to infrastructure projects and strategic planning.

Type and Duration - Contract - 12 months plus extensions Work Model - Hybrid Location - Brisbane CBD Key Responsibilities · Administer and support Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, and web hosting environments. · Provision, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows, SQL, and cloud infrastructure. · Manage Microsoft Operations and Configuration Manager, including monitoring, patching, deployments, and alerting. · Administer Active Directory, including Group Policy, security groups, and identity management. · Support Azure and AWS infrastructure, including virtual machines, EC2, Azure SQL PaaS, and SQL Managed Instances. · Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Azure Runbooks, and GitHub Actions. · Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system stability, availability, and performance. · Produce and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, and system design documentation. · Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology implementation projects. · Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.



· Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members while contributing to strategic technology planning.

Required Skills &

Experience · Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments. · Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2025). · Strong scripting skills using PowerShell for automation, configuration management, and reporting. · Experience with GitHub for version control and script management. · Experience administering IIS web servers. · Exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms. · Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. · Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Azure Runbooks. · Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills. · Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. · Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. · Commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications · Microsoft Azure certifications (such as Azure Solutions Architect) are highly regarded. · AWS Solutions Architect certification is highly regarded. · Experience with enterprise Microsoft hosting platforms is highly desirable. · Relevant industry certifications and demonstrated enterprise infrastructure experience will be viewed favourably.
