Profectus is seeking experienced Senior System Analysts to support the delivery and sustainment of business and technology systems within a large Australian Government agency. Working across the full delivery lifecycle, you will translate business needs into explicit system requirements, analyse existing capabilities, and help shape solutions that are secure, fit for purpose, and aligned to agency priorities. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams in a structured and highly governed environment, contributing to systems that support important government outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document system and business requirements
- Translate complex business needs into functional and non-functional specifications
- Analyse current systems, processes, and data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop user stories, use cases, process models, and supporting documentation
- Support solution design activities and ensure alignment to enterprise architecture and agency standards
- Work with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered
- Contribute to test planning, validation, and acceptance activities
- Support change, release, and configuration management processes
- Maintain traceability between requirements, design, and delivered capability
- Collaborate with project, security, and delivery teams to support compliant and resilient outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement across analysis practices and delivery frameworks

Required Experience

- Strong experience as a Systems Analyst or Business Analyst within large,



complex, or highly governed environments
- Proven ability to elicit, analyse, and document business and system requirements
- Experience mapping business processes and modelling systems, data, and workflows
- Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle across waterfall and agile approaches
- Experience working with development and testing teams to deliver system capability
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to operate effectively both independently and within integrated teams
- Excellent documentation skills and the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Experience

- Experience working within Australian Government or similarly regulated environments
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and structured delivery frameworks
- Experience with requirements and workflow tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Visio
- Exposure to integration, data migration, or system modernisation activities
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements within government
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CBAP, or Agile methodologies

Security Clearance Requirements

- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
