Crocodylus Park was opened in 1994 by Professor Grahame Webb. Today it is one of Darwin's main tourist attractions and is home to the famous Saltwater Crocodile! Beyond Crocodiles are a wide range of exotic and native wildlife; including Lions, Meerkats, Monkeys, Cassowary and more... As a Zookeeper at Crocodylus Park, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional levels of animal husbandry while maintaining high welfare standards.

The Role:

We currently have 2 available opportunities:

We are recruiting for an ongoing casual Zookeeper with at least 1 year experience in the Animal Husbandry sector, preferably within a zoological setting.

We are also recruiting for a casual Junior Zookeeper for 4-5 weeks work mid-December to mid-January.

The successful applicant will have a positive working attitude, excellent attention to detail, an understanding of animal husbandry and welfare, and be a team player.

This role is for the Zoo Department, not the Crocodile Department.

Key Responsibilities:

- Follow section husbandry routines to deliver a high level of animal care to all species including, but not limited to, enclosure servicing, diet provision,



providing daily enrichment opportunities, positive reinforcement training.
- Conduct continuous observations on all animals during the working day, reporting anything abnormal to a senior member of the team.
- Ensure standard operating procedures, risk assessments and policies are adhered to at all times to ensure safe working practices.
- Deliver animal talks and encounters while maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service and proactively engage with visitors on site.
- Record all elements of animal care as daily diary reports.
- Support all members of staff and, if directed, facilitate the work of other departments.
