Excellent consulting prospect to join a market leader in the finance sector as a Lead Platform Engineer for their Azure / Cloud platform.

The Role

- Reporting to the Head of Cloud Technologies, you will be responsible for designing, building and operating secure, scalable and reliable Azure infrastructure that underpins key business applications
- You will provide technical designs for platform optimisation with a focus on rightsizing and cost management.
- You will embed security by design and drive observability across the platforms, ensuring reliability and operational stability
- You will work across multiple project activities, taking technical ownership of the outcomes
- As a Lead in the platform team, you will provide technical guidance and ensure critical escalated issues are resolved.
- Minimum 7-10 years of infrastructure engineering experience




- Proven background designing and delivering cloud platform solutions within complex regulated environments – Cloud architecture / Azure landing zones
- Azure governance standards, policy management and security controls
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep; ARM templates)
- IAM / RBAC / Access Patterns /Microsoft Entra ID
- Knowledge of common observability and APM tools
- Experience with Azure networking VNETs, peering, Private Endpoints, VPN/ExpressRoute, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door
- Technical leadership skills, mentorship and ability to influence
- Known as a "doer" and outcome-focused
