Several vacancies are available for 12 months, working in Darwin and Palmerston
Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital is the principle tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia.
Currently, the Royal Darwin Hospital is accepting applications for an Unaccredited Urology Registrar starting in February 2027.
Under the direction of Dr Henry Duncan, a senior urologist with specialist interests in stone diseases, urological cancers and benign prostate conditions, you will be part of the urological surgical team providing timely and high-quality services to patients at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals.
Your key duties will include the admission, management and discharge of urology patients referred from the Emergency Department, undertaking consults for inpatients and participating in surgical operations under the supervision of fellows/surgeons. You will also contribute to the supervision of junior medical and clinical staff and participate in the Acute Surgical Service on-call roster. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in continuous medial education, professional development, peer review, research and quality improvement activities.
To be successful you are required to be eligible for appropriate registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Aphra), have relevant training and experience in Urology and General Surgery, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients.
