The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This position offers broad exposure across accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end support and financial administration within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare electronic payments and maintain supplier relationships
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations




- Assist with Medicare and revenue reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
- Support month-end reporting, journals and accruals
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Support process improvement and finance optimisation initiatives
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance standards

The Candidate

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer role
- Strong reconciliation and accounts payable experience
- Exposure to accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, Reckon or NetSuite
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- CPA/CA commenced or intention to commence will be highly regarded
