Site Maintenance Supervisor - Up to $130k + Super (BH-39301) Location Chullora, Australia Sector Manufacturing & Production Salary $120,000.00 to $135,000.00 per annum Villawood, NSW | Permanent Full-Time | Up to $130,000 + Super Are you an experienced Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Maintenance Fitter looking to take ownership of a critical maintenance function within a highly automated industrial manufacturing environment? We are seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of three Maintenance Assistants while ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of a state-of-the-art E‑waste recycling and processing facility in the Fairfield region. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative operation that utilises advanced automated equipment, optical sorting technology, shredding systems and conveyor networks to process specialised materials The Client: Located in the Fairfield region, this well-established operation is a leading specialist in the responsible recycling and recovery of electronic waste.
The site focuses on processing end‑of‑life electrical and electronic equipment from commercial, industrial, and government sources, with a solid emphasis on environmental compliance, data security, and material recovery. The facility handles a wide range of e‑waste streams including IT and telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, batteries, and electrical components. Using a combination of manual dismantling and advanced processing techniques, materials such as metals, plastics, and circuit boards are separated and prepared for downstream recovery, ensuring minimal waste is sent to landfill.

- Working 6am to 2pm! (With flexibility required for start and finish times) The Role: Reporting into the National Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with the Operations team, Maintenance team, Operators and hand sorters to ensure all plant equipment and production machinery are maintained to the highest standard, minimising downtime and maximising plant performance. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead by example, provide technical guidance, and actively participate in preventative and breakdown maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor and support a team of 3 Maintenance Assistants whilst operating as the stand‑alone qualified Maintenance fitter onsite - Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance across production plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Maintain and repair automated processing equipment, conveyor systems and production machinery.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of shredders and optical sorting machinery - Coordinate and participate in repairs of all site plant and equipment.
- Manage inventory of critical spare parts.
- Lead the delivery of small maintenance projects and equipment installations.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering and Production teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety‑first culture across the site.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise plant performance and efficiency.
The Candidate:
You will have experience leading the maintenance function in previous recycling / waste manufacturing environments.
Essential requirements include holding a trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter or Electrician, proven recycling or waste industry experience, and strong knowledge of optical sorters, shredders, conveyor systems, automated production lines and PLC fault finding. Previous leadership experience and a strong commitment to WHS are essential To be successful in this role you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter or Industrial Electrician.
- Previous experience supervising or leading maintenance teams within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience within the recycling, waste processing or resource recovery industry is essential.
- Strong experience maintaining:
- Optical sorting systems - Industrial shredders - Conveyor belt systems - Automated production lines - LED control panel system run lines - Experience working on equipment used for lithium battery or LED battery processing will be highly regarded.
- Experience with equipment manufactured by Pannizzolo and Stokkermill is highly desirable.
- Experience maintaining metal separation systems operating across multiple processing lines.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley / Siemens PLCs from a fault‑finding perspective is highly advantageous.
- Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect competency is highly advantageous - Forklift Licence.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and equipment reliability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Work Health & Safety.
