Mayfair Building Co is seeking an experienced, hands-on Site Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our aged-care renovation project in Albany.

We are open to engaging the right person either as a full-time Mayfair employee or under a subcontract arrangement.

This is a project-dedicated role for a capable and practical construction professional based in Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker or the surrounding Great Southern region.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will manage site operations, coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and project resources, and work on the tools where required to keep the project moving.

You will be responsible for ensuring the works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to Mayfair’s quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the day-to-day operation of the construction site
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and material deliveries
- Work on the tools where required to maintain progress
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications and construction documentation
- Monitor the construction programme and plan upcoming works
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and site presentation
- Identify and resolve site issues promptly and practically
- Conduct site inspections and oversee defect rectification
- Ensure site activities comply with WHS requirements
- Maintain accurate site records, progress updates and documentation
- Communicate effectively with the Construction Manager, project team, consultants and subcontractors
- Support the project through construction, completion and handover

ABOUT YOU





You will be an experienced and accountable construction professional who can manage people and programme while remaining willing and able to work practically on site.

You will ideally have

- Demonstrated experience supervising construction projects
- Strong practical construction knowledge and hands-on trade capability
- A relevant trade qualification, preferably carpentry
- The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and engineering details
- Strong subcontractor coordination and problem-solving skills
- A sound understanding of construction sequencing and quality requirements
- A strong working knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- Good computer skills and confidence using construction reporting systems
- A current White Card and driver’s licence
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction will be highly regarded
- Current First Aid qualifications, or a willingness to obtain them

LOCAL REQUIREMENT

You must live in Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker or the surrounding Outstanding Southern region and be able to travel to the Clarens Estate site each working day.
