The Centre seeks a solicitor who is enthusiastic and committed. As a community legal centre, we work with the vulnerable and disadvantaged in regional, rural and remote areas of Central and Western Queensland. The Centre’s focus is on the provision of a generalist legal service and offers a wide range of services including the provision of legal advice, legal task support, domestic violence duty lawyer, casework, information/referral services and community legal education.

Salary packaging options:

- CQCLC offers staff SCHADS Award rate plus a market loading payment above Award rate.

- Salary range is between $105 570 and $110 350 plus percentage market loading to be negotiated with successful applicant.

- 15% superannuation.

About the Role

Full-time position - flexible arrangements can be negotiated.

As part of the legal team, you will provide:

- Demonstrate commitment to the Centre's vision, objectives and strategic priorities.

- Promote access to justice, equity and the rights of vulnerable and disadvantaged community members.

- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, community organisations, courts,



government agencies and other stakeholders.

- Act with integrity, professionalism, accountability and respect.

- Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

- Support continuous improvement and quality service delivery.

- Uphold confidentiality and professional obligations at all times.

- Participate in outreach activities and travel within the Centre's service area as required.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

- Admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland and possession of a current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).

- Minimum two (2) years post-admission experience (PAE).

- Demonstrated experience providing legal advice, casework and file management.

- Strong legal research, analysis and drafting skills.

- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high degree of autonomy.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with vulnerable and disadvantaged clients.

- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, access to justice and client-centred legal practice.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and case management systems.
