The Cove Café Part-Time Attendant is the primary café attendant within a small team of three. The role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the café, supporting consistent service standards, and helping ensure the café runs smoothly under established processes and the guidance of the Animals & Operations Manager.

This role includes ordering saleable stock, preparing Grab’n’Go food items, and maintaining efficient café operations. The Lead Attendant is expected to guide and support team members, work independently when required, and maintain a high-quality, hygienic, and fast-paced working setting. The role also provides excellent customer service to all customers and actively promotes a strong customer-focused culture.

- Coordinate daily café operations, including opening procedures, fresh Grab’n’Go food preparation, ad-hoc food orders, and maintaining clean and tidy internal and customer-facing café areas.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning duties and work with the team to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Order café stock and monitor anticipated stock requirements based on customer demand, seasonal fluctuations, and upcoming park events whilst working with the AOM to monitor budget guidelines and monitor stock on hand through monthly stocktaking.

staffing and maintenance requests to the AOM.
- Coordinate and support the café team to ensure café processes advised by the AOM are followed.
- Promote and maintain health, safety, food hygiene, and cleanliness standards throughout the café.
- Where necessary, provide relevant feedback to the AOM regarding staffing or operational challenges.
- Work positively within a team, facilitating training of new team members.

Key Selection Criteria

Previous experience working in a canteen, cafeteria, or café environment.

Experience with deep fryer cooking, Grab’n’Go style food preparation, and barista duties is required.

Experience using a POS system.

Uniform requirements must be maintained by the employee. Three work shirts and a branded name badge will be supplied. Employees are required to provide and maintain black pants or shorts, in line with the employee manual, and enclosed shoes.

This role is based on five 7-hour shifts, totalling 35 hours per week. Hours will be worked according to the demands of the business and may include weekends, public holidays, and some evenings
