We are seeking two experienced and professional team members to join our Medical Imaging Team in Nhill who are excited to make a difference in rural Victoria!
- Sonographer: Part Time (0.4 EFT - 32hrs)
- Sonographer - Medical Imaging Technologist: Part Time (0.6 EFT - 48hrs)
The roles include:-
- Weekdays only and no on-call or call backs.
- Meals are provided through the catering department.
- Accommodation is offered when on-site.
- Travel expenses as per award conditions.
*ABOUT THE ROLE:*The Medical Imaging Department, offers X-ray, OPG (dental x-rays), CT scans and ultrasound examinations. Our ultrasound service covers a broad range of disciplines which includes:
- Obstetric
- Gynaecologic
- Musculoskeletal
- General Ultrasound
Our imaging systems in Nhill are electronically linked to specialised radiologists based in Ballarat who supply prompt reports of all imaging results to all referrers.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA****Essential:
Sonographer
- Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- At least 4 years’ experience as a qualified Sonographer with experience in several examination types.
Sonographer - Medical Imaging Technologist: As above, and:
- Current Certificate of Registration to practice from the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia,
via the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a current Use Licence from Radiation Safety, Victoria issued by the Department of Health.
- Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES
- Perform ultrasound examinations in line with skilled standards, departmental policy and the Code of Ethics of the Australasian Sonographers Association.
- Support and guide undergraduate and MIT clinical practice to ensure safe, compliant radiographic and sonographic care.
- Complete examination-related clerical and statistical requirements accurately and promptly.
- Maintain the provision of an optimal safe environment protecting patients and staff from the dangers of radiation exposure and other hazard.
