We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to provide 1:1 support to a female participant transitioning to independent living.
This is a 24/7 support model including day shifts and active overnight shifts. Immediate start available.
About the Role
You will support a participant who is:
- Transitioning back to independent living
- Working towards increased community access and participation
- Requiring PEG feeding support
- Requiring use of a ceiling hoist for transfers
- Requiring prompting, supervision and structured support overnight
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 daily living support, including overnight
- Administer PEG feeds in line with care plan and clinical guidelines
- Perform secure transfers using ceiling hoist equipment
- Provide active overnight support, including waking checks and assistance as required
- Assist with transition to independent living
- Community access support
- Prompting, supervision and routine support
- Maintain professional documentation and incident reporting
- Work collaboratively with guardians and stakeholders
Essential Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex care needs
- Current competency in PEG feeding (or willingness to complete training/certification prior to start)
- Demonstrated experience with ceiling hoist transfers and safe manual handling
- Experience in high-intensity or complex care environments, including active overnight shifts
- Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
- Experience in 24/7 roster environments preferred
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services or related field
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Manual handling / hoist training certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- PEG feeding competency sign-off (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Ability to commit to rostered day and active night shifts
