We are seeking an experienced and qualified Administrative Officer to join the Department of Anaesthetics at St George Hospital. Located in the heart of Kogarah, St George Hospital is one of the major tertiary referral hospitals within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, offering a supportive and collaborative work environment. The hospital is located close to cafes, shops, and public transport, with Kogarah railway station only a short five-minute walk.

What you'll be doing : As a key member of the Department of Anaesthetics, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the service.

Your responsibilities will include

- Providing administrative support to the Head of Department and clinical teams.
- Preparing, coordinating and processing correspondence
- Managing billing & Medicare submissions
- Coordinating staff rosters and maintaining records.
- Maintaining accurate records while ensuring patient privacy, confidentiality and compliance with NSW Health policies and procedures.

Selection Criteria

1. Advanced skills in providing a wide range of high level administrative services, including invoicing, in a demanding environment
2. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills including the preparation of reports, briefings
3. Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and implement systems and processes, ensuring deadlines are met
4. Ability to support medical staff by handling timesheet enquiries and processing timesheets
5. Ability to work independently and with a demonstrated commitment to effective teamwork
6. Demonstrated independent experience in recruitment processes and rostering practices using NSW Health recruitment, onboarding and rostering systems
7. Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Health Industry data management systems for patient billing, patient administration and health record management
