About the Medical Record Service
About the role
As a Health Information Services Clerk, you will be involved in collating, preparingand scanning patient information to make it available for patient care. You will have the chance to interact with both internal departments and authorised external parties. You will also be involved in release of patient information to external healthcare providersin accordance withour release of information policy. Working with our Team to support patient care by making patient information available either by scanning paper documents or responding to requests for information from external organisations. Some weekend work may be available asadditionalhours. Some travel to other campuses is alsorequired.
A regular day will see you:
- Releasing of patient information
- Reception services
- Maintaining our patient administration system and medical record systems
- Preparing and scanning paper patient information
- Uploading information to receive in electronic format
- Quality checking processes and identifying process improvement
- Assisting with Freedom of Information Requests and / or Transcription Services
About you
- Ability to determine priorities and organise workload effectively and efficiently
- Experience in healthcare administration
- Commitment to following procedures to ensure consistency in work practices
- Proven problem-solving skills and a commitment to ongoing improvement
- Entry level knowledge of computer products including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability in providing customer service
- Possession of the following personal qualities: motivation, flexibility, initiative, professionalism, and reliability
