Forte Sydney ConstructionPty. Ltd. is a private construction company currently experiencing rapid growth, and requiring expansion of our Contract Administration capability.
You will be working with project managers in ensuring that contracts under administration are delivered to agreed budget, maximize margins and mitigate risk to the business' performance and profitability. The role will involve the usual functions of Contracts Administration; procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers, handling contract negotiations and cost control functions etc.
You will ensure vendors, suppliers, sub-contractors provide their services in a timely and cost effective manner, and to the quality expectations of the project.
You will be accountable for:
- Assisting in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Scheduling of daily operations on the projects.
- Preparation of bills of quantities and liaising closely with sub-contractors
- Preparing packages and tenders
- Tender process management; Tender interviews with subcontractors
- Assessing and processing sub-contractor claims, variations and extension of time claims.
- Analyzing the impact of contractual changes and any liability exposure that the change might cause.
- Negotiate directly with suppliers and consultants until consensus has been reached
- Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff
- Ensure that signed contracts / SOW are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support implementation
- Ability to assess contract payments and liaise with accountants to arrange payments
- Managing procurement and ensuring cost efficiencies
- Tracking of budget against actual for subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Preparing monthly progress reports
- Preparing budget for 3 months’ look ahead period.
- Liaise with site manager for fortnightly construction program updating
The minimum requirements for this role are:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 3 year experience working on commercial or residential construction projects in Australia with a thorough understanding of building codes and standards.
- Highly driven self-starter looks for career progression

- Proven ability to negotiate, influence and develop relationships at all levels
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate to Advanced competency in MS Word, Excel and associated software.
