About the Role:

Are you passionate about producing high-quality food and delivering excellent customer service? Join our Food Services team at St Andrew's Anglican College as a Food Services Assistant, where you'll help bring our outlets to life, including our primary and secondary cafés and Lanes Café.

Working alongside the Food Services Supervisors and Food Services Manager, you'll support the daily running of the outlets and contribute to a friendly, high-performing team that takes pride in what it serves up each day.

What You'll Do:

- Produce and prepare meals, slices, cakes and snacks for all outlets, following standard recipe cards to ensure consistency and minimise wastage.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene across all aspects of food preparation, from delivery and storage through to cooking, in line with food safety guidelines.
- Prepare items for online orders efficiently, within set time frames and food safety requirements.
- Assist with and help run functions, including food preparation, set up and pack down.
- Assist with all aspects of food preparation and cooking, using commercial equipment.
- Handle cash and use the student account and POS systems,



including completing daily banking.
- Support the opening and closing of outlets, and perform cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
- Produce and serve high-quality coffee, food and drinks, and help maintain and report any maintenance needs for the coffee machine.
- Assist with stocktake, and rotate and top up stock as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with WHS and food safety plans, and comply with College policies and procedures.

What You Bring:

- Communication Skills: Proven communication and interpersonal skills with both adults and students.
- Customer Focus: A friendly, customer-focused attitude and the ability to build connections.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of hygiene standards as they relate to food preparation.
- Culinary Skills: Basic culinary skills and knowledge of stock control and rotation.
- Barista Skills: Barista qualifications or experience, or the ability to obtain these.
- Experience: Previous customer service or hospitality experience, ideally around 2 years in a similar role.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as required, and to work across all Food Services areas including the primary and secondary cafés and Lanes Café.
- Current, valid Blue Card as required under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
