The General Medicine Unit at AlfredCare Groupis a dynamic and well supported unit with an education and research focus.The General medicine unitoperatesprimarilyacrossthe Alfred Hospital,CaulfieldHospitalandSandringhamhospital. Theunit is dedicated to the care of complex, multi-morbid and often elderly patients, providing care in both an inpatient and ambulatory care setting. There is a strong interdisciplinary approach to care within the unit.

About the Role

As Senior Pharmacist–Generalmedicine, you willbe responsible fortheday-to-daydelivery of clinical pharmacy services tothe general medicineunitacrossthe Alfred Care Group. The position will alsobe responsible forsupervision and development of clinical pharmacists working within these services. You will work in collaboration with the Lead and Senior Pharmaciststo provideprogressiveadvanced level patient-centred careto allgeneral medicinepatients.

This post has a key role in the managing and mentoring of junior pharmacists rotating through the service. This would also include undergraduate student placements, intern rotations, postgraduate studentplacementsand a contribution to medical, nursing, alliedhealthand pharmacy education.

Research is an essential part of pharmacy services at Alfred Health. The post holder would also be expected to contribute to the research and educational activities of the General Medicine teams as well as pursue their own research.

Qualifications & Experience required

- Registered pharmacist in Australia
- Relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent highly desirable
- Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in hospital
- pharmacy servicesExperience in leading and coaching a highly effective team
