Provide specialist DFV case management, practice support and team leadership to improve safety, housing and wellbeing outcomes for women and children.
About the Program
The Murray Mallee & Adelaide Hills Domestic Violence Service provides specialist support and supported accommodation to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, including Aboriginal family violence, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness as a result of violence.
The Role
This is a newly created role within our Domestic Violence Service unit.
In this role, you will provide leadership, practice guidance and specialist support to Case Managers and Case Workers, while maintaining a strong focus on client safety, risk management and positive outcomes.
Working as part of the South Australian Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Alliance, you will contribute to a collaborative service system committed to delivering services that are safety-focused, inclusive and culturally safe.
You will provide specialist advice and secondary consultation on domestic and family violence risk, safety planning and case coordination, while supporting clients to navigate complex systems and access appropriate housing and support services.
The key duties in this role will include:
- Provide direction, consultation and support to Case Managers and Case Workers in the provision of quality outcomes to clients.
- Provide clinical supervision to Case Managers and Case Workers in consultation with the Manager.
- Participate in and support the work of the Statewide DFV Alliance.
- Report writing, including Risk and Safety Reports for SAPOL, Prosecution and the Courts.
- Liaison with government and non-government agencies in relation to risk and safety.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to improve access to services, resources and housing outcomes
- Contribute to data collection, reporting and quality improvement activities.
About You
Essential Criteria
- Social Work Degree
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and case management, with a trauma-informed practice approach
Desirable
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
Special Conditions
- Some interstate travel to attend meetings and/or training may be required.
- Some out-of-hours work may be required, for which TOIL or overtime provisions apply in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument.
