We are seeking a Senior Zero Harm Advisor to join our Energy and Utilities team within the Water business

The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Zero Harm Advisor to join our Energy and Utilities team within the Water business, based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Regional Zero Harm Manager, this role plays a critical part in driving a strong safety culture across project delivery teams.

You will partner with operational leaders and frontline crews to embed Zero Harm principles, ensure compliance with legislative and company standards, and proactively manage health, safety, and environmental performance across projects.

This is a permanent full time opportunity offering exposure to major water infrastructure projects and the ability to influence safety outcomes at both strategic and operational levels.

What we’re looking for

You are a proactive safety professional who thrives in energetic project environments and has a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead and promote Downer Zero Harm standards across project sites
- Conduct audits inspections and incident investigations to identify root causes and drive improvement
- Support injury management and return to work processes
- Develop and implement Zero Harm Management Plans and risk controls
- Provide coaching and guidance to project teams supervisors and crews
- Prepare and deliver safety reporting and performance analysis




- Ensure compliance with regulatory client and internal requirements

About you

- Certificate IV in WHS as a minimum with further qualifications desirable
- Demonstrated experience in a similar safety role within water utilities or civil construction
- Robust knowledge of HSE management systems and legislative requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to coach and influence teams to achieve safe outcomes
- High level organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Current driver licence
