About The Role
We're looking for a detail-driven Fleet Allocator to coordinate our driver fleet across Victoria. You'll be the link between drivers, customers, and internal teams - allocating jobs efficiently, keeping deliveries on track, and helping us champion Smartways' place in the healthcare supply chain.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate a fleet of contract drivers across Victoria using our technology platforms and phone communication
- Allocate jobs efficiently and equitably to meet delivery KPIs
- Keep internal and external stakeholders updated via our transport management system, phone, email, and messenger services
- Respond promptly to Customer Service queries and service disruptions
- Contribute to non-conformance investigations
- Ensure road and air linehaul collection and cut-off times are met daily
- Support the fleet and dispatch team with freight consolidation/de-consolidation during peak periods
- Maintain compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws
- Monitor driver GPS trackers
- Evaluate and plan for next-day volumes
What you'll bring
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a national courier company
- Strong communication skills and a qualified phone manner
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving ability
- A proactive approach, including keeping stakeholders updated
- Excellent planning skillsStrong geographical knowledge of Metro Melbourne and surrounds
- Familiarity with Chain of Responsibility laws
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
