Competitive Above Award Salary - Base Salary HPSS 3.4 $99,796.73 p/a + Super

We're looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the multidisciplinary team at headspace Darwin, providing high-quality mental health support to young people aged 12–25 years.
About the Role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll provide screening, assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. Working alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team, you'll support young people from their first contact through to ongoing care, helping them achieve meaningful outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and mental health assessments.
- Deliver evidence-based individual, family and group interventions.
- Undertake risk assessments, safety planning and ongoing care coordination.
- Support young people using a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, community organisations and health services.
- Facilitate warm referrals and ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and data collection.
- Participate in clinical supervision, quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Represent headspace Darwin through community education, group programs and outreach activities.
About You
You are an experienced and compassionate clinician who enjoys working with young people and values collaborative, person-centred care.
You'll ideally have:
- An approved tertiary qualification in a relevant health or mental health discipline.
- Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for professional membership (such as AASW).
- A minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in mental health or a related health setting.
- Experience conducting mental health and risk assessments, safety planning and therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge of youth mental health, recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine commitment to culturally protected practice and working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities.
- Current AHPRA registration or relevant professional membership.
Requirements
- Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
- National Police Check.
- Current NT Driver Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Evidence of required vaccinations.
