Opening in 2026, the Larrakia Cultural Centre is a place for Larrakia people to share, celebrate and showcase Larrakia Country, Language, Culture and Knowledge with the world. A project of the Larrakia Development Corporation, the Centre exists to share Larrakia culture and history, strengthen intergenerational knowledge, foster economic independence for Larrakia people, and promote collaboration with First Nations people locally and globally.

Our vision: A living Larrakia culture for all Larrakia people, now and for future generations.

We're building a small, dedicated team to bring this special place to life, and we're looking for warm, reliable people who love working with visitors and want to be part of something meaningful from day one.

The chance - become an All Rounder, or choose your specialty

We're hiring across four customer-facing areas of the Centre. When you apply, you can tell us the role that suits you best -or put your hand up as an All Rounder and work flexibly across all of them. All Rounders are the heartbeat of the Centre: one shift you might be pouring coffee, the next welcoming a tour group or helping a visitor find the perfect gift.

Tour Desk Attendant — Be the first friendly face visitors meet. Process ticket and tour bookings, answer enquiries, manage the POS and daily reconciliations, and keep the front desk warm and welcoming.

Tour Guide — Lead engaging, culturally informed tours through our exhibition spaces, landscaped gardens and on Country. Share stories,knowledge and Larrakia perspectives. Where possible this role is intended for Larrakia people,



ensuring authentic sharing of Larrakia knowledge and connection to Country.

Retail Assistant — Keep our retail store looking its best, help visitors discover Larrakia art and products, handle sales and packaging, and manage stock and inventory.

Barista & Kiosk Attendant — Prepare and serve great coffee, food and refreshments, keep the kiosk clean and well presented, and give every customer a warm welcome.

Across all four areas the work overlaps -everyone lends a hand at the tour desk, kiosk or retail floor when it's busy -so if you enjoy variety, the All Rounder path is for you.

What you'll bring

- A friendly, professional and welcoming manner, and a genuine enjoyment of working with people
- Customer service experience - ideally in tourism, retail, hospitality or cultural settings
- Confidence with POS systems and handling cash/eftpos (or willingness to learn)
- Reliability, punctuality and a flexible, can-do attitude
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a close team
- A genuine interest in promoting and sharing Larrakia culture and heritage

Nice to have (or willing to obtain): knowledge of Larrakia Country and culture, barista training, Food Handling Certification, and a current First Aid qualification.

The details

- Casual, part-time and full-time positions available
- Flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
- A current NT Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance) and National Police Check are required
- Positions commence late August / early September 2026
