Health is seeking a dynamic Allied Health profesional to head our Specialist Services team. This pivotal role oversees the clinical and operational aspects of our diverse programs, including Assessment, Counselling, Non-Residential Withdrawal, and Care and Recovery Coordination. As the Team Leader, you’ll ensure that our services in the Northwestern Metropolitan treatment catchment, as well as Assessment and Counselling services in the Grampians region, deliver high-quality, innovative, and evidence-based client care.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Drug Health Services leadership group, Women’s Therapeutic Day Programme, Adolescent Community Programme, and Adult Services teams to maximise opportunities for enhanced quality and timely treatment.

Your role will also be crucial in streamlining pathways across the health service and the broader AOD sector, guaranteeing exceptional consumer access to treatments.

Key responsibilities - Provide day-to-day operational and clinical oversight and leadership of clinical staff - Ensure high quality evidenced-based client care within a harm minimization framework - Staff supervision, driving performance, team motivation and cohesion to meet goals and key performance indicators - Administrative management of rosters, timesheet approvals and workload distribution - Represent the service at sector network meetings, building collaborative relationships with external agencies - Support the Manager with recruitment, induction and training of new staff; lead the induction and onboarding for all new staff in the AOD Team - Facilitate clinical meetings, reviews, supervision, mentoring, effective practice, professional development,



and any other relevant mechanism to ensure best care is provided About you - Leadership experience in health or community services - Sound knowledge of AOD funding, KPI’s and case management - Knowledge of the biopsychosocial effects of substance use and poor mental health and its impact on individuals, families and significant others and the community - Demonstrate Behaviours consistent with Western Health values - Experience and ability to assess, manage and document clinical risks - Ability to organise workload, set priorities and meet performance targets and deadlines About Western Health Western Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Victoria, caring for a vibrant, diverse and rapidly growing community of one million people in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
