About The Role

Are you an experienced Underwriter with a positive mindset and a passion for making a meaningful impact? We are looking for a dynamic Senior Underwriter to join our enthusiastic, innovative and high-performing team.

In this role, you will operate as a senior cross-class Underwriter with broad portfolio exposure, partnering closely with our Chief Technical Officer, National Underwriting Manager and Underwriting Manager to shape, refine and execute product strategy.



You will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing new and existing offerings, apply your expertise to influence underwriting direction, strengthen technical frameworks and drive sustainable, high-quality portfolio performance and long-term strategic growth.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of underwriters, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
- Provide guidance and mentorship to your team, promoting professional growth
- Collaborate with team members to analyse and assess risks, ensuring accurate underwriting decisions
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations and best practices, and share relevant information with your team
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between underwriters, brokers and other team members
- Implement and improve underwriting processes and procedures to enhance team efficiency
- Resolve complex underwriting issues and provide support in challenging cases
- Foster a positive work culture based on respect, trust and accountability

Critical Competencies

- Strong analytical and mathematical ability
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underwriting
- Experience in Property / ISR underwriting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, underwriting guidelines and risk assessment
- Confidence in working closely with our Lloyd's binder partners
- Excellent leadership and team building skills
