Your Role:
The Multi Skilled Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy machinery used in civil construction, mining support, and earthmoving projects. The role requires the ability to operate multiple plant types, perform routine maintenance inspections, and work collaboratively to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification.
Operators are expected to demonstrate flexibility by operating different items of equipment as required and assisting with general labouring duties when machinery is not in use.
This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on workplace, has good communication skills and the drive to succeed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
All candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, and regular drug and alcohol screening. This position will be located at our remote Project Site, with rotating shifts of 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
Safely operate a range of heavy machinery including:
- Operate equipment safely in accordance with site procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and project specifications
- Perform trimming,
bulk earthworks, drainage, road construction, rehabilitation, loading, stockpiling, and final finishing works
- Maintain productivity while ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and report defects immediately
- Work closely with surveyors and supervisors to achieve production targets
- Work effectively within a civil construction team
- Assist with general labouring tasks when required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years' experience operating multiple types of civil construction equipment
- Demonstrated experience in road construction/maintenance and civil earthworks
- Demonstrated competency across several items of plant
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices
- Ability to read site plans and follow set-out information
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience on remote civil or mining projects
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Construction White Card
- Operator Tickets/Statement of Attainment
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
