Vocational Education Training Trainer/Assessor (VET Trainers)
Alice Springs College of Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Vocational Education Training Trainer/Assessor to join our team in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality vocational education and training to our learners. As a VET Trainer/Assessor, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and assessing vocational qualifications that equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills. This role is fundamental to ASCA's mission of providing accessible, quality vocational training that transforms lives and strengthens our community. The position is based in Alice Springs, NT 0870 .
Key responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging vocational training programmes aligned with industry standards and training package requirements
Assess learner competency against established criteria, maintaining accurate and detailed assessment records
Provide constructive feedback to learners to support their progress and development
Develop, update and maintain training materials, resources and assessment tools
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual learner needs
Collaborate with industry partners and employers to ensure training remains current and relevant
Monitor learner progress and identify additional support or intervention requirements
Maintain compliance with VET regulatory standards and ASCA policies
Participate in career development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Support learners in achieving their vocational goals and career aspirations
What we're looking for
You must hold all of the following:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or predecessor TAE40116 / TAE40110), or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or VET.
- SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in hospitality.
- Current knowledge and skills in Vocational Education and Training
Trainer/Assessor: SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management
You must hold all of the following:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or predecessor TAE40116 / TAE40110), or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or VET.
- SIT40522 Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in hospitality.
- Current knowledge and skills in Vocational Education and Training
Sound knowledge of current training packages and industry standards relevant to your specialisation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners
Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology
Commitment to learner-centred approaches and inclusive educational practices
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders
Current or willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check and other relevant clearances as required
Experience in remote or regional communities is desirable
