About the Role A highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an outstanding reputation across New Zealand is expanding into Australia and is seeking an experienced Technical Director – Fire Engineering to lead its Australian division.

With a well-established client base, a proven track record and a strong pipeline of existing projects already secured, you'll be stepping into a role with immediate work rather than being expected to build everything from scratch.This position offers genuine flexibility. Whether you enjoy remaining technically involved in complex fire engineering projects or prefer focusing on leading a team, mentoring engineers and driving business growth, the role can be tailored to suit your strengths.

Duties

- Lead the QLD Fire Engineering division.
- Mentor and develop Fire Engineers.
- Provide technical oversight and project leadership.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Drive business development and identify growth opportunities.




- Review and sign off on complex fire engineering solutions.
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to grow the Australian business.
- Remain hands-on technically if desired.

About You

- RPEQ accredited Fire Engineer (essential).
- Extensive experience delivering performance-based fire engineering solutions.
- 7+ years experience in fire engineering in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and fire engineering principles.
- Leadership experience managing teams or mentoring engineers.
- Commercial mindset with business development capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Motivated by the opportunity to build something long term.
