About the Position The purpose of this technical officer position is to provide essential technical support for the clinical and virtual simulation activities in the Melbourne Centre of the Faculty of Health. Clinical and virtual simulations enable students to acquire and enhance their confidence and proficiency in clinical practice within a safe controlled environment. The technical officer additionally plays an important role in supporting academic staff in the provision of teaching, research, and community engagement activities.

About You To be successful, you will require:

- Relevant qualifications and experience or an equivalent combination of knowledge and/or training and experience to a bachelor's degree level in a health-related discipline.
- Knowledge and experience in preparing and using clinical simulation equipment and associated software systems.
- Knowledge of clinical simulation protected working practices and WHS regulations, especially regarding storage and disposal of medical gases and biological materials.
- Demonstrated clinical simulation skills including maintenance of facilities, management of equipment and clinical practice supplies, and accurate record keeping.




- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and to adapt to a changing and flexible work environment, while maintaining initiative, self-motivation, and discipline.
- Possess a working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office applications, and an aptitude for using online procurement systems and databases.
- Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills with awareness and knowledge of the importance of a culturally safe workplace.

Knowledge and Proficiency

- Understanding and compliance with Safe Working Practices, Work Health Safety (WHS) regulations, procedures, and legislation.
- Ensure clinical simulation equipment and spaces comply with WHS legislation and guidelines.
- Ensure staff and students work according to WHS policies and procedures.
- Contribute to developing clinical simulation learning and teaching resources for the Faculty of Health.
- Liaise with academic staff to meet the technical support requirements for each clinical simulation activity.

Remuneration

Remuneration will be in line with the official CDU Salary Guide and hourly rate is depended on duties performed. The hourly rate will be a Casual Professional Level 5.
