Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technical Support Specialist role based in Melbourne, VIC.
The Technical Support
Specialist will provide front-line technical assistance to customers and installers, including troubleshooting issues related to solar hot water systems, solar panels, air conditioners, and other energy-efficient products. The role involves responding to phone and email enquiries, diagnosing technical problems, guiding users through solutions, and coordinating with field technicians or service partners when on-site support is required. The specialist will document support cases, maintain accurate records in service systems, and escalate complex issues to engineering or product teams as needed.
Day-to-day tasks also include updating knowledge bases, supporting warranty and service processes, and contributing to continuous improvement of customer support practices.
Qualifications
Strong technical aptitude for electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve product and installation issues.
Experience in customer or technical support environments, including handling phone and email enquiries in a clear, professional, and solutions-focused manner.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and installation manuals, and to communicate instructions in accessible language.
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and consistent, accurate case documentation.
Proficiency with CRM or ticketing systems, standard office software, and basic data entry and reporting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with customers, installers, and internal teams.
Relevant trade, technical, or engineering qualification (e.g., electrical, mechanical, renewable energy) or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
Knowledge of solar energy, HVAC, or energy efficiency solutions is highly regarded; prior experience in the renewable energy or utilities sector is an advantage.
