Your Role

The Grader Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of graders to carry out earthworks, road construction and maintenance, drainage, and final trim activities. The role requires maintaining high standards of workmanship while complying with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, has good communication skills and the drive to succeed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

All candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, and regular drug and alcohol screening. This position will be located at our remote Project Site, with rotating shifts of 2 weeks on, 1 week off.

- Perform all aspects of grader operator
- Perform rough grading, finishing, trimming, batters, table drains, windrows, and road maintenance
- Construct and maintain haul roads and access roads
- Complete final trim work to specified levels and tolerances using GPS machine control where fitted
- Read and interpret construction plans, survey information, and grade stakes
- Complete pre-start checklists and maintenance reports accurately




- Maintain equipment in a clean, serviceable condition
- Report mechanical issues promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel
- Work closely with surveyors and supervisors to achieve production targets
- Work effectively within a civil construction team
- Assist with other plant operation duties where competent and authorised

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 5 years' experience operating graders
- Demonstrated experience in road construction and civil earthworks
- Experience operating GPS machine guidance systems (Topcon, Trimble, Leica or equivalent)
- Sound understanding of construction drawings and survey set-out
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience on remote civil or mining projects
- Ability to complete final trim work to specification - desirable
- Experience operating additional civil plant – desirable
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (HR desirable )
- Construction White Card
- Grader Operator Ticket/Statement of Attainment
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
