The Role

As a senior physiotherapist, you will provide high quality culturally appropriate, effective, and contemporary physiotherapy assessment and intervention services to meet the needs of patients, their families and significant others across ICU, Medical wards and pulmonary rehabilitation groups at Alice Springs Hospital.

Working as part of the front-line Allied Health team you’ll provide both inpatient and outpatient services, participate in the after-hours physiotherapy services roster and supervise physiotherapy students and junior staff.

About you

You’re a compassionate and skilled physiotherapist who thrives in respiratory and medical clinical settings. To be successful in this role you will have:

Relevant qualifications in physiotherapy that meets membership eligibility requirements of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a practicing physiotherapist.

Extensive post graduate experience in providing contemporary, high level clinical respiratory physiotherapy services to patients and families/carers.

Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients and families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Proven high level communication and interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and conflict management skills,



with significant experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.

Extensive experience in clinical supervision of students and staff and a commitment to career development.

Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.

Proven ability to efficiently and effectively organise and manage a high-volume complex workload.

Demonstrated high level leadership skills with capacity to provide leadership in a team environment.

Post-graduate qualifications in clinical education, leadership/management, speciality practice area or another relevant field would highly valued.
