As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Transport/Logistics Manager to join our dynamic dispatch team and oversee the day-to-day transportation operations for our busy manufacturing facility.

Role Overview

As the Transport/Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods from our warehouse directly to our customers. You will be responsible for organising and managing a fleet of 25 trucks, scheduling multiple daily runs, and coordinating logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how our transport operation runs and grows - your organisational skills and ability to lead a team will be key to maintaining our high service standards and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

 Oversee the schedule of pre-organised daily routes for a fleet of 25 trucks, ensuring on-time deliveries and efficient operations.

 Coordinate multiple runs where required across Monday to Friday, considering optimal routes, traffic patterns, and delivery windows including prioritising AM crane meets / high volume customers.

 Manage a team of drivers, providing leadership, support, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

 Monitor fleet performance and work with maintenance teams to ensure trucks are in top working condition and with all required gear (e.g. straps, safety cones, etc.).

Organise and facilitate truck inspections for registrations as required.





 Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver logs, and vehicle maintenance schedules including working with delivery technology (e.g. in-vehicle cameras,

mapping programs).

 Communicate with internal departments, including production and customer service,

to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.

 Liaise with customers directly where required to ensure optimal deliveries.

 Manage budgets and track transport costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

 Monitor loading requirements for compliance, product protection and quality assurances.

 Supporting the loading team through on-site training, supervision and safety oversight.

Requirements

 Proven experience in transport or logistics management, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industry.

 Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-

paced environment.

 Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage drivers and collaborate across teams.

 In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, health & safety standards, and compliance requirements.

 A proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting on the go.

 Ability to adjust plans or work out on-the-go issues as needed to meet customer and business needs.
