About the Role
As Environmental Advisor, you will provide specialist environmental advice and lead initiatives that protect and enhance the City's natural assets. Working within the Sustainability and Environment team, you will deliver environmental management programs, contribute to strategic decision-making, and ensure environmental risks are effectively managed in line with legislation and best practice. This is an opportunity to play a key role in biodiversity conservation, land management, environmental compliance, and the delivery of projects that support positive environmental outcomes for the community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement environmental management plans, strategies and policies.
- Provide specialist advice on biodiversity, land management, environmental risk and compliance.
- Manage environmental projects, investigations and consultant-delivered studies.
- Prepare technical reports, grant applications and environmental documentation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent the City in environmental forums.
What We're Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering environmental management programs and providing specialist environmental advice.
- Strong knowledge of biodiversity conservation, land management practices and environmental legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build collaborative relationships.
- Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence and a current National Police Clearance
