Alice Springs Hospital has a catchment area of over 1,000,000 km2. We care for some of the nation’s most socially disadvantaged people, with high levels of morbidity and mortality, many with diseases not seen elsewhere in the country.

This is a rare opportunity for a motivated PGY3+ doctor to step into a dual clinical and educational leadership role, shaping how the next generation of doctors learn to practise in rural and regional settings.





Working within the Medical Education Unit, you will scope, design, and deliver a structured skills development program that builds rural generalist capabilities across two distinct learner cohorts: senior medical students and junior doctors (PGY1–2).

You will develop and deliver a skills curriculum thread in accordance with the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors. You will be well supported to develop a coherent, mapped sequence of learning outcomes that spans both cohorts, ensuring progressive skill acquisition and continuity of training across the pre-registration and early postgraduate journey.

This role suits a doctor who is considering a career in Rural Generalist medicine, medical education, or both — and who wants to make a meaningful systems-level contribution while continuing to develop their own clinical skills.
