- A robust foundation for a future career in mining About the role In the Vacation Student – Mining Engineer role,you'llgain hands-on experience supporting mine planning and operational activities across our mining operations. Working alongside experienced engineers,you'llcontribute to projects that help optimise production, improveefficiencyand support safe mining practices.
Some of your work may include:
- Assistwith short and medium-term mine planning activities
- Support drill and blast design and analysis
- Contribute to mine scheduling and production reporting
- Assistwith operational improvement projects
- Analyse mining data andidentifyopportunities for optimisation
- Support ventilation,haulageand mining studies
- Work closely with engineering and operational teams to support safe and productive mining activities Program locations Cowal Gold Operations, NSW Located near West Wyalong in Central New South Wales, Cowal is one of Australia's largest open pit gold mines, offering students exposure to a large-scale mining operation within a supportive regional community. Roster:5:2/4:3 Included:Subsidised accommodation, flights at the commencement and conclusion of the program, plus return travel home during the festive period. About you We'relooking for motivated students who are curious,hands-onand keen to grow their technical skills. You’ll be:
- Studying Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrating an interest in mining operations and mine planning
- A strong problem-solver with analytical thinking skills
- A confident communicator and team player
- Willing to live and work in a regional mining environment
