Australia Shengyang Innovation Investment Pty Ltd is a privately funded, Victorian-registered company.

We're building a current commercial laundry in Melbourne — a high-volume central plant running CBW and tunnel washers with RFID linen tracking, servicing hospitality and linen rental.

The role

You'll be our most senior operational person in Australia, reporting straight to the owner.

In most Australian plants this job is titled General Manager or Plant Manager. We've called it Vice President because of where it sits and how far it can go.

The first phase is project work — site selection, plant layout, equipment, utilities, approvals, budgets and building a team. Once we're commissioned, you own the plant: production, safety, quality, service, cost, the lot.

This isn't a strategy role. It's hands-on and site-based, and you'll spend the early months across the table from equipment suppliers, water authorities, consultants and contractors long before a machine lands.

What you'll actually be doing

Getting it built

- Working with the owner and our consultants on site selection, plant layout, material flow and capacity
- Speccing the wash line, finishing, sorting and conveying — then running the negotiations, FAT, SAT and commissioning
- Sorting out gas, steam, water, power, water treatment and trade waste consent. Gas is the long lead item and we know it.
- Building the operating budget, org structure, shift model and SOPs from a blank page
- Hiring and training the first production leaders, operators and maintenance crew

Once we're running

- Full accountability for production, safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost per kilo
- Multi-shift planning across wash, dry,



finishing, packing and dispatch
- Preventive maintenance, critical spares, and holding suppliers and service contractors to their contracts
- OHS under the Victorian OHS Act, plus EPA and trade waste obligations, and managing the team under the applicable Award or EBA
- Reporting to the owner on production, quality, cost and variances — and what you're doing about them

What you'll bring

- 7+ years in commercial or industrial laundry, including senior leadership of a high-volume central plant — GM, Plant Manager, Site Manager or senior Ops Manager
- Hands-on ownership of CBW or tunnel washer production. This one isn't negotiable.
- A track record with the numbers that matter: cost per kilo, labour productivity, rewash, linen loss, downtime, DIFOT
- Real experience with preventive maintenance, critical spares and equipment suppliers
- Budget ownership, and the ability to explain a variance without being asked twice
- Working knowledge of Victorian OHS, EPA and trade waste requirements, and of Award or EBA employment
- Full Australian work rights, and available to work on site in Melbourne

Counts for a lot with us: greenfield builds or major expansions, healthcare or hospitality linen, full P&L;, boilers and steam, water treatment, or a history of dealing with water authorities and councils.

What's on offer

$180,000 – $216,000 + super, depending on what you bring.

A direct line to the owner and the authority that comes with it. You'll pick the equipment, design the flow, hire the team and set the standards. There's no incumbent structure to work around and no head office to talk into it.
