Market Eating House is looking for experienced and enthusiastic front of house team members to work across Market Eating House and our private dining and events venue, The Old Lyric.
This is a casual position offering up to 20 hours per week initially. Applicants must be available to work Friday and Saturday evenings.
About us
Located in Bunbury, approximately two hours south of Perth, Market Eating House has been part of the South West dining scene for more than 10 years.
Our food is centred around our wood-fired oven and charcoal grill, with a strong focus on seasonal produce, bold flavours and quality local ingredients. Our menu is complemented by a carefully selected local and Australian wine list.
Our restaurant group also includes The Old Lyric, a dedicated private dining and events venue located inside Bunbury’s original Lyric Theatre building on Victoria Street.
We are a family-owned business with a close-knit, long-serving team. We take pride in providing warm, knowledgeable service without losing the energy and personality that make our venues unique.
About the role
You will work across restaurant service, private dining and events at both Market Eating House and The Old Lyric.
Your responsibilities may include
- Welcoming guests and providing attentive, professional service
- Taking food and beverage orders
- Developing a strong understanding of our menus and wine list
- Setting up and resetting the restaurant and event spaces
- Assisting with private functions and special events
- Working closely with the kitchen and front of house teams
- Maintaining high standards of presentation,
cleanliness and organisation
About you
We are looking for applicants who:
- Are available to work Friday and Saturday evenings
- Have previous hospitality or customer service experience
- Work well in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Are reliable, punctual and well presented
- Communicate confidently with guests and team members
- Have a positive, can-do attitude
- Enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
- Have an interest in food, wine and hospitality
- Can commit to the role for a minimum of six months
Experience across restaurant service, wine service, functions or events will be highly regarded.
