QFirst Constructions is a growing residential building company specialising in the construction of high-quality new homes throughout Sydney. We are currently looking for an experienced full-time Wall & Floor Tiler to join our construction team on a permanent basis.

This is a permanent position offering consistent work on new residential housing projects throughout Sydney with opportunities to grow within our expanding business.

About the Role

You will primarily be working on newly constructed residential homes, carrying out all aspects of internal and external wall and floor tiling to a high professional standard.

Your responsibilities will include

· Installation of ceramic, porcelain and natural stone wall and floor tiles. · Preparation of substrates ready for waterproofing by other trades.

· Application of screeding to bathrooms, ensuites, laundries and all wet areas to achieve correct falls.

· Installation of floor and wall tiles in accordance with Australian Standards.

· Accurate measurement and planning of tile layouts.

· Cutting and shaping tiles for complicated areas including niches, corners, penetrations, staircases and architectural features.

· Installation of feature walls and decorative tiling where required.

· Grouting completed tiled surfaces to a high-quality finish.

· Application of silicone sealants to all movement joints and perimeter junctions.

· Carrying out repair works, replacing damaged tiles and rectification of completed tiling installations when required.

· Maintaining a clean and safe work environment on construction sites.





· Working closely with site supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time.

What We’re Looking For

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

- At least three years of relevant hands-on experience may substitute for the above formal qualification
- Demonstrated and verifiable experience in residential wall and floor tiling (minimum of two years post qualification)
- Demonstrated experience in screeding wet areas with correct falls to floor wastes.
- Strong knowledge of substrate preparation prior to waterproofing.
- Excellent tile cutting skills for complex layouts and detailed finishes.
- Experience with floor and wall tiling in current residential construction.
- High-quality grouting and silicone application skills.
- Experience carrying out tiling repairs and rectification works.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to read building plans and tile layouts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a construction team.
- Current White Card.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Australian working rights.
